At Crabtree & Evelyn we are driven by a passion
for discovery and invention. Authenticity is evident in everything we
do including our uniquely eclectic (and much imitated) packaging art.
The design inspiration for our fall home
collection of scented candles and botanicals came from our fascination
with vintage wallpapers from the 30’s 40’s and 50’s.
Many of these papers were originally crafted using block-printing techniques
and hand-cut stencils. The result is an eclectic mix of nostalgia and
modern – with simple stripes, heirloom floral and geometric prints
combined with unexpected colour palettes. Each of our four distinct collections
(Moroccan Spice, Vanilla Truffle, Warm Evergreen and Winter Apple) can
be mixed or matched – to suit your individual sense of style.
MOROCCAN SPICE
 An
exotic twist on the traditional – with an intricate blending of
citrus, amber, coumarin, moss, musk, and patchouli that seems to add
warmth to even the chilliest space.
Design inspiration:
A blend of the rich colours and textures of William
Morris prints and glorious hand-woven textiles of Morocco.
Colours:
mahogany, indigo, sepia, almond
WINTER APPLE
 The
inviting aroma of pies baking in the over - with a blend of crisp new
season apple notes, brown sugar, cinnamon, Nutmeg and clove.
Design Inspiration:
Nostalgia for happy childhood memories of cottage kitchens, the smell
of good things baking and pantry walls covered with hand-blocked wallpaper.
Colours:
goldenrod, chocolate, apricot, granny smith
VANILLA TRUFFLE
 The
sweet comforts of home embodied in a rich blend of French vanilla bean,
raspberry and black cherry warmed with amber and spice notes.
Design inspiration:
‘‘A bit of this and bit of that’, this is a contemporary
interpretation of romantic vintage wall stencils with the sweetheart
pattern inspired by vanilla’s reputation as an aphrodisiac.
Colours:
café au lait, caramel, gingerbread
WARM EVERGREEN
 The
enchantment of northern winters captured in a heady blend of freshly
cut balsam branches, cedar leaf and spiced oranges.
Design inspiration:
Northern sunsets. The colours are from beautiful dappled light dissolving
into an intensely pink sky above an evergreen forest; the pattern was
inspired by an antique Turkish rug.
